Can your pole be TOO short for you?

for average height surfriders -2 on the pole, lowered bracket and -1 on the steering is about ideal

I suppose if you are 5'-9" (average male height) and don't do rolls and flips...

I really think it has more to do w/ arm length and riding style than height

that's where I'm at 6' tall, -2" pole, -1 on steering, lowered bracket and 0 degree bars (which will also pull you forward over stock). Super comfortable... I thought about taking another 2"s out though.

Although, for any kind of longer distance ride it can be tough on the lower back.

For these I recomend an SXR :popworm:

My math may be a bit off, but if you are 6'3" shouldn't your arm span only be 75"?

yes I'm deformed.... my arms are 5" longer than my height...
it makes everything you do just that much more goofy...

btw i can roll just fine..but i think they are ghey so i dont

UHhhh???..... that wasn't a bust on you... I couldn't care less who does what in the surf... after I posted I thought it may be taken the wrong way.... typing really doesn't cover any range of expression...

I was making a gereral statement about size and riding style...

my point was rolls require you to lean all over the front of the ski, needing a shorter pole. flips are easier w/ a shorter pole too IMO... surfriding only you won't need one that short...

Just ride
my entire setup is -4 1/2" and i love the way it feels. i'm only 5'6" and i thought it would be way to short for me when i built the ski but now it feels awesome. i couldnt imagine having it any shorter. rolls are easy with it my head is always over the chinpad and backy's i can't say yet i've had a couple attempts with less than perfect results haha..but hopefully soon.
