I don't believe you can on a Yamaha, to the best of my knowledge they are put on then the flywheel is swedged to hold them on.

I have an msd total loss which was made by different company's, rad being one of them I think. Can,t find the info on it at the moment. They were going to relace ring for 50.00.Unfortanately they screwed up and did not realize until after they cut the still usable one off that someone else had made it and there gear was to small.Check with rad.It can also be done your self .It is a very tight shrink fit.Let me know how what you find out or if you need more info.
Are your charging or not.

As long as you can get the correct new ring gear it is quite easy to replace, just use a press to get the old one off then heat up the new one and press it on. If you are not sure how good the interferance fit is use some retaining fluid and make sure you put it on the right way round.
Chris.

don,t pressthe old one off
The press fit will be large maybee .007" or more (just a guess havn,t calculated it yet). You will pick up on the aluminum and destroy the fit.
Use a small dia cut-off wheel ,you will cut into the aluminum a bit but it is the best way

This is absolutely correct assuming all the tolerences are correct. However I have pressed the ring gear off RAD Flywheels with no problem. I can only assume from this that their tolerances are a little on the loose side. If your worried about it take Featherides advice and cut it first.
