It’s a 96 model. The back right and left sides are jacked up (appears to be dented in and wavy). I've been told that a lot of SJ's are like this. Can the sides be fixed and still retain strength, or will it compromise the integrity of the hull?

Any feedback is appreciated...

most SJ's are like that, does not effect anything.......... of you put footholds in, just dig the foam out, give it a push, then refoam, it will straighten out.......but if it does not, no biggie.

That just the way they are . Some are wosre than others. Its all cosmetic though.

If you wanted to I guess you could build the area up with some resin and mat then do some finish work on it. I would not try to cut that area out redo it. Then your asking for trouble.

Yep like bk said, dig out any foam touching those sides before refoaming. It helps sometimes, sometimes not. I usually reinforce at least the exhaust side and after I do that, the foam never pushes it back out. :indifferent:

you can't see it while riding so who cares?

Unless you have a REAL BIG waist, you can look down and see it while riding.

Sometimes I see the bottom of my hull when I'm tossing my ski around.

I wouldn't have posted the thread if I wasn't a bit concerned.

I like BK's idea........just give it a little push when re-foaming the sides.
If it doesn't work, I'll let it be.

I'll trade ya a perfectly smooth sided square for that nasty old round nose thing you got there:sneaky: I think you should just ditch it in my back yard, I wont mind if you dump it there:biggrin:

hey I'll take it back if you want:biggthumpup:

Just as long as we don't meet in Memphis right?:cool2: It sucks you got your truck broken into. Thats some:bs2:

Nah....don't want to give it back, I just got it! I have to molest it first. Just wanted some feedback...

Looks like a good place for a sticker or a rear grab handle... It will be no time before you are doing 2 handed rear grab supermans..:arms:

All you have to do is break up the smooth paint with a sticker or somethign and then you will look past the wave.

Or you could just do as JIM said and ride the damn thing
