Super Jet can i sand out scrathes on my RN, NEED HELP PLEASE

Hey, I pulled all the stickers off my RN. When i took off the sticky residue it left little scratches here and there in the paint. Can i hit the paint with some 2000 or higher sand paper, wet sand it? The paint is factory, so idk how much clean is there.
Idk about paint and body work. So any help would be greatly appreciated

Yeah what Slutty said . but it helps if you get the sticky off first , use some type of citrus remover , or my favorite is aircraft adhesive remover . available at autozone or O'reillys .. dont get the aircraft remover it will remove your aircraft( ha ) the can looks the same

well general adhesive remover works too, you might want to try using a marine oxydation removal wax, i like mcguires made for gel coat. its a gritier wax and you would be surprised at how much it can do without going at your gel coat for the first time with sand paper. if youve never done it before id say start low and work your way up. as in try a gelcoat restoration wax first if that doesnt get it then wet sand

Are all SJ's SMC, or were earlier models FG? Reason I ask is because my other Yamis(also SMC) use a single stage urethane paint(no clear). I've done some scratch repair on them, & a simple color sand & buff works great for light scratches. I'm 99% sure gel coat is never used on SMC.
