However, on a technicality, I guess we didn't explicitly say that if you post a pm you can be banned, so, he's unbanned thanks to Harrison and I unlocked this thread.

nope, all a screen name is, is a nickname for someone.

A PM is conversation between 2 parties. to post a copy of it, you need to have permission of the other party involved.

how is it any different than transcribing a phone conversation or any conversation, for that matter?

this is the internet. not a court of law.

posting a PM is a choice.... just like outing someones real name that wishes to remain anonymous.
