buying first super jet?

Hi, im and sxr owner, making the transition to a super jet. I ride in the ocean only. What do you guys usually do to the ski as far as mods. Not looking to do any engine work, just prop? Foot holds? anything else you would recommend. I will be getting a 2010 or maybe an 09 leftover fyi

The 09 and 10 models have a better prop from the factory and pretty much have sponsons or tubbies already molded into the new hull. So some of the first mods may not be needed on the new SJ's... I personally would do a WORX 201 intake grate, and a bilge pump to get started since you said you ride in the surf. The bilge incase you get rolled in the surf, and the Intake grate will really help in the chop of the ocean.
Also make a flush flash kit before you take it out in the salt. Then I would probably think about foot holds or straps if your up for cutting up a new ski. If your going to start cutting it up I would shorten the pole while I was at it as well. But that is just my opinion.

rrp pole
blowsion bars and chin pad
factory wet pipe
blowsion filters
tbm intake grate
tbm ride plate
dual bilge pumps
blowsion hood brackets

I'm sure I'm missing something. Didn't really give any thought to selling it. What do you think I could get for it?

get yourself an intake grate, bars/steering/07-earlier pole and cable, mod nozzle for more steering throw, cut the pole about 3 inches, footholds, bilge.

that should be plenty and it will be very reliable in the surf. underpowered but reliable. if you get an 08 or newer leave the stock prop, it works great and is big hub stainless.

the next thing on that list for me would be a b pipe and an ADA girdled head and TBM pump cone. the cone works great for surf hookup.

run the stock intake and stock rideplate cut flush and with a d. mod the steering nozzle.
the new hull design can easily be over intake grated. awesome for racing, not so good for surf riding.
put that rrp on it!!!!!! pleaaase!!!

I was thinking about keeping the rrp, but I dont think I can put the stock pole bracket back on the sxr because I have the rrp bracket which required me to drill holes for the rrp. I'll have to check.

yeah you're probably right. I just put the pipe on it this summer also. I'm fairly new to the sport so I didn't know to buy a superjet for wave riding. Oh well, now I know and will take the hit. From what I hear the superjet is well worth it?

well, I have another sxr (08) I just figured I'd give a juperjet a try. Every movie I watch and most of the youtube vids are all superjet. Having one of each would be cool
