Because some are looking past the obvious

NPS = National Pipe Straight
NPT = National Pipe Thread

Both 100% the same Pipe Thread with 1 difference:
S = Straight
T = Taper

Who would have thunk it?

Funny post, but it is a $2.00 brass fitting not made by Solas.

Not to play devils advocate but it's possible that Solas might be drilling the fittings out to flow more water, therefore weakening the fitting.
