building my 86 x2 750 questions

ok guys as you can see by my name im a newb to the x2 lol but all these pics of the modded ones have my wanting to build mine. putting a 750 in it can i use the stock x2 pump? whats better the keep 750 electronics or switch to 650? and running the 650 stock pipe?

If you are going to run a 750 you will want something other than the stock pipe. Factory pipe with a Blaster chamber would be a very good choice.

The motor just bolts in. Strap the ebox to the gas tank where the oild tank goes. You wont get the potential out of the motor since the 750 pipes dont fit. The best pipe is the factory pipe but you will need a westcoast 650 manifold to make it fit, and should do a port job on the manifold.

I have a 750 motor, but would be just as happy or happier with a properly set up modified 650. They fit better.

you can really make the 650's come alive with the proper bolt ons and impeller. The 750 will take the cake with the same bolt ons as CC will win. The 750 electronics are much newer (usually) than the 650 stuff so it may be better to run that, than try to convert your 750 to fit 650 stator.

Ok thanks for the help..vumad so your saying a nice 650 would be just as good and easier then the 750? I have a stock 650 and a 93 750xi I was going to use the motor out of. I have heard many mixed reviews on the 750 swap.

I agree that if you have a 750, then use it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to find a 750 lot replace a 650.

I've been unimpressed with every 750 I've ever ridden. I have ridden x2 that were impressive on the bottom but found out they were under propped and couldn't be held wot. My x2 will yank your arms off on the mid-high and has impressed many others but is unimpressive to me on the bottom.

Maybe I just haven't found the right setup, but, I have tried lots of things and have never been happy.

I have been very happy wih my Superjet. I would like to put my Superjet motor in my x2 when I start feeling better to see if it will work as good as it does in my Superjet. Then I might be happy.

You will need to instal a Superjet Pump as well.

Id like to try a x2 with a limited 701 and kawi pump. I think it would work very well. My kawi makes tons of power, just late, like 3500 rpm. I can tune the pump to let it spool faster in the low rpm but then it starts turning 7800 rpm wot.

My kawi is actually more powerful than my yamaha, its just not as powerful in the rpm i use most.
