broken prop...

i'm pre-inspecting a modded 94SN i bought last weekend that has been sitting up for 5 years. good thing i did, found a kinked hose to the Riva pipe a damaged valve in the carb and now a broken prop. when i would shut the ski down, i kept hearing a metal sound, kinda like a ball bearing in a can sound. first time i've seen a prop break like this. if i had to guess it was already cracked/stressed, then when i removed it (which came off very easily), it split in half. you can see the little piece on the blade of the prop, guess that's what was making the rattling sound...oh well, thought i'd share a picture or two...almost forgot about the fuel filter...

not that i can tell. i can see scratches on opposite sides inside the wear ring so the prop did have some play on the shaft. the ski ran fine on the trailer, except for the noise. took it for a 15 minute test ride on the lake and it's been parked since Sunday last week. did notice a little cavitation once on plane, but figure it was the choppy water...also have to check the bendix, teeth sometimes grind when i start it...luckily i have a donor ski with all kinds of spare parts...
