Broken Battery Tray Bolt

Head broke off one of the bolts while removing the tray from the hull. Drilling it out proved to be ineffective. Going to try and weld a nut to the stud tonight to turn it out. Why were these things stuck in there so hard? This happened on my new to me '18 bone stock superjet and the guy (i know him personally) who bought it new rode it literally 2 times. Still have three good threads, but just knowing that something in it is already broken is almost making me lose sleep. Are these bolts breaking a common issue? Looks like yamaha used red lock tite and epoxy and anything else that locks bolt threads in place. Am i too worried about this? Worst case i will just use the three remaining mounting points and maybe go with a light weight battery to make up for the -1 mounting point.

i had the same issue and wished i saw this before. i drilled and tapped . this would have been much easier and less thrown wrenches and profanity . i'm definitely going to remember this one for the future im sure its not going to be my last broken bolt isn't salt water the best.......
