Broken 1100cc sleeve

Hi.. just received my freshly bored 94.5mm et1107 cylinder from my engine builder and got a surprise when I opened the box.
1 sleeve is broken at the bottom..
Kinda piss me off because I guess ET sleeves are hard to get and I just got it bored and bought 94.5mm pistons ($$$$) ...

My engine builder says that I could run the engine like that if I polish the broken area so the rings do not catch.

What do you think..

You can 100% get away with cutting it down and chamfering the edge. I always take the sleeves up out of the intake port and I never have issues. A little less skirt support but runnable. Your rings won’t come that low anyways. Honestly, although it sucks, you really lost the bare minimum.. was there shipping insurance?

yes you can do that we used to cut those off the bottom. However it will slap the side of the piston off due to lack of bottom support
this was a major issue back when we used to do it
