Super Jet broke rn hand pole? Question about fixing.

I did a sn to rn pole conversion on my 90 superjet. I bought a -4 pole on here over the winter. Well I got 4 rides out of it and the pole separated from the base bracket. So my question is... Assuming the rivet holes are enlarged how do I put this pole back together, and make it stronger?

Clean and grind both surfaces with course sand paper/grinding disc. Put epoxy or thickened epoxy resin on both surfaces let dry, redrill holes replace with ss rivets. For extra put a layer of fiberglass or carbon fiber overlapping both pieces by atleast three or four inches.

What is the best epoxy for the job? I have a west marine across the street from me. Would they have something that would do the job the right way?

Yes west systems 105 resin, I like fast hardener for smaller jobs like this, you will need some 404 thickener aswell. I have used JB weld kwik, also works good.

So I inaly removed the pole and popped the rivets out. To my surprise I found out the pole was never epoxied, just riveted together. So my question now is what to do with the holes? They have been enlarged so should I just try and find larger stainless rivets or is their another way. I was gonna put it back together with jb weld, can I just fill the holes with that and redrill after?
