Surfriding Broke boys sn build

Okay guys i got a new starter and that solved the not turning over problem!.. but now its not sucking fuel from the gas tank! Im running dual 38s that i just got from someone and they said they mightve been from a blaster or something he didnt even know where they came from. Anyways i pulled them apart and it looks like the inlet where the fuel line comes in from the tank is just a dead end in the carb? Or maybe theres a filter or something at the end? Im not much of a carb wiz so i dont know what could be wrong.. im bummed cuz its so close to being done! Who has the answer to this? Thanks

Looks plugged with jb weld from the inlet barb repair hack job. Drill it out maybe but I wouldn't roll without a pressed in barb. Fuel leaks in skis are no joke. Get some fresh carbs if you can. It will really make your summer more enjoyable.

That may be all that's wrong with them. That opening need to at least be bigger than your needle and seat. You could carefully drill the broken piece out and replace it. Jetmaniac has barbs or you could heat and remove one from another carb to press in.

Its threaded tho. You’re saying to press in a barb in the threads?

Someone tapped threads into the broken piece I guess? I was saying drill the broken piece out and press a new one in. Should look like this.

On 38s the slave carb is blocked. One carb pumps and the slave is fed through the back plate.

Yeah the slave carb is blocked but shouldnt the one with the pump have somewhere for the fuel to go from the inlet? Like shouldn’t there be a hole from the inlet to the bowl or something? Like where this arrow is?

Okay im about over it! Lol. I drilled it out, now its suckin fuel and starts but bogs like no other as soon as i touched the throttle. I adjusted the screws to factory pipes settings and tried messin with them but she still bogs like crazy.

Anyone have a set of oem dual 38s from a superjet that are known good carbs? Think im gunna need to get some new ones..

Check pop off pressure on each one with a pump, see when needle seats open and if holds pressure, check pilot jets and if channel from pilot jet to inside of carb duct is free - you need to check everything before you go on water - check the membrane in the sun to see if has any little holes

Sooo, i ended up putting my single carb setup back in my ski, and she ran like a dream! Finally got to take it out and test it last night and damn was it fun! Front end rides nice and high but still planes out good at higher speed and it turns on a dime with it being shorter in the rear.. theres almost too much room on the tray its like a dance floor.. “so much room for activities”. But im stoked to get it in the water! Thanks to everyone who helped me and gave me some advice and all the threads i read to learn how to do everything. The work has finally paid off!

Now just have to take it in the surf this weekend and see how it does!
