After my wife and I had a couple kids I left it sitting for the last 5 years. Only problem, I pulled the head for some reason(presumably to swap it for a girlded head) but never got around to it. I opened it up last week to find the engine was trash.

I hit up the last owner to see if it was worth rebuilding and he said the cylinders were ported. The cases look good after some elbow grease. So I have another crank on the way and some gaskets from Jet maniac.

The last owner had these carbs on it.

Any thoughts on what they are? My notes indicate the fuel lines were routed with one carb being feed by the main line and the other carb was fed by the reserve line. (Cut to the same length). Is that ok or should I just run a t off the main? I’ll rebuild them before I reinstall. The carbs had been removed before it sat for the last 5 years because I have a single 48 with an adapter I was running it it seemed to be on the lean side. I wouldn’t mind going back to the duals.
The cylinders are already at the shop. They are gonna let me know if it needs a bite or just cleaned up. Most likely will end up with a 1.00 over top end since the pistons are stamped .75...

As for what it’s used for I like to just rip around the lake and a little surf action. Nothing to crazy.

For a single car setup does it do any good to have a restrictive on the return line? I found one in there and haven’t heard of this. Ski previously had a dual carb set up.

Going back to a single 44? Don't really see the point in a restrictor on the return - there isn't one there from factory. Perhaps it was installed for more fuel pressure in the previous setup? Not too familiar.

I dropped a stock motor I had on the shelf till the old motor is rebuilt. Ada head and a pipe is all she gets for the summer!
