I just heard this and I am not sure of any of the details but I hear that someone just died on a pwc in Ocean City NJ. Appearently they were docking (in a lagoon), hit the dock and were killed.

They were either going way to fast or did not know what they were doing or both.

I got the official word. She was 16, riding her uncle’s seadoo, no license, going fast in a posted no wake zone. Witnesses said she never slowed down or turned just rode right into two boats and a dock. I wonder if the ski malfunctioned.

It is a shame.

i guess its possible to lose throttle control and steering at the same time, but its not very probable. ill bet the dock just jumped out right in front of the ski. ANYTHING but operator error.

My guess is that the ski was fine and she just froze up but I don't know for sure.

One more reason to never let a person without a license ride you ski.

That is going to be my theory. If somebody is in a situation that they are unfamiliar with, panic & fear tend to set in. Sadly another death that could have been avoided.

dude...... that sux so bad, could you imagine what her uncle is feeling. holy christ the guilt would be horrible.

these kind of things never bothered me as much till i got my own kid.
