Break in period for hone only?

I recently bought a used cylinder with used pistons in good condition and had some mild port work done and the sleeves honed but not bored.
I know not to just go out and rip it, but don't know if it needs the full break in treatment as with new parts. What's the right break in procedure for used parts with just a fresh hone?

Those motors are bomb proof. Ride it like you always have. They break in the moment they are turned over.

....slight change of plans:
Ended up boring the cylinder, more extensive porting, new pistons and rings.
The shop says to go out and ride it, just take it easy / no WOT for the first tank.
Last time I was going with SBT parts and they had a real elaborate break in procedure with special oil in the first tank yadda yadda.
1) Normal oil OK?
2) What ratio (I normally run 40:1)
3) Any other precautions or procedures besides no WOT for the first tank?
4) Anybody want to ride at Buena Vista tomorrow afternoon?? Woot!

normal oil is fine, it's even better for better for ring seating than synthetic. 40 :1 is fine, some recommend a slightly richer oil mix. Always - even after break in - warm up the engine by riding with part throttle for the first 2 minutes , especially if using wiseco pistons.

hook up the hose and let it run at an idol for an hour, then take her out and keep the first tank on the water below half throttle, then the second tank stays below full throttle but you can blip it to full throttle just no full throttle runs. then the third tank of gas is ride it like you stole it because you properly broke it in.

You only have to have a long elaborate break in period if its a new crankshaft.

New bore, pistons, rings will set after around 20-40 minutes of riding. Just warm it up good, go ride it easyish up and down the throttle for awhile.
If you have no problems after 20 minutes or so, you should be good to go with no problems.

I took a middle ground, added a little extra oil to the 40:1 and blipped around, increasing after a while but keeping it mostly below 80% throttle. Great to be back on the water and no motor seizure. . .next ride we'll really see if all the work was worth it.

It was worth it. Went out all by my lonesome today - it rips!
