Brapp's 1987 Toyota 4Runner Build

Mainnnn makes me wanna cry. Though my 88 hilux did not have quite the cool factor as a 4runner I restored it in 2012 only for a old lady to pull out in front of me in 2016 and total it. I gave up on fixing it because the frame bent behind the pass side front wheel but I sold it to a hispanic guy in Miss and frame swapped it and sold it again. I hope it is still rolling. Will try to show some pics. I had damm near converted a deluxe into a SR5 with bucket seats, tilt wheel, center console, turbo factory wheels etc

Ahhh bummer :(

This is why I run the big rock defense bumpers on my trucks, I figure it will only help my truck in a situation like that or if I hit a deer ha

Nice build!!! Wish I had your motivation to finish mine.
'87 4WD factory turbo

That thing looks cool with the wide body! I really wanted more than anything to build a lowrider haha
Does your truck have the digital cluster??

It does have the digital cluster, its fully loaded. I thought about doing a lowrider build with one to but wanted to use the floorpan and drivetrain out of a newer awd vehicle.

Incredible, great work with attention to detail ! F**k i strugled with doing a zero point calibration on my 08 this week just to get my vsc and abs lights off on my dash .but i think my issue is a brake switch sensor .Its amazing you are able to modernize your dash like that, looks great ..Brownie another gem locked away safe in someones garage,i really wanted that factory turbo for my 98 .22R sorry your Hilux had to go out that way ,but at least you got to own it . Awesome thread BD

Finally got the shock hoops welded up and rear shock mounts! After those were in place I was able to get a measurement and place an order for shocks. I went with Pro Comp and when the shocks arrived, they were white. Well I decided to grab some paint and make them right... is anyone SHOCKED? Ha.

This is a wild build I love it. I'm a massive fan of Japanese trucks from back in the day I used to have a d21 i think you guys call them hardbody's ?
Well done some of the colors are not what I would do but that's what makes every one different.
Now about that turbo you are thinking of. The answer is yes

I forgot to post a few of the "finished" pictures. I pulled over on the ride home yesterday and took a few while the top was down. I will continue to update this thread with pictures as I drive the truck. It is now my #1 daily driver, as I honestly believe the truck and myself deserve it! After 400+ miles I have absolutely NO LEAKS! I have just a couple more little things to add but its done for the most part ;) IMG_8189.jpegIMG_8190.jpegIMG_8191.jpegIMG_8192.jpegIMG_8193.jpegIMG_8195.jpegIMG_8196.jpeg

Series 97!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Series 75 would go with it also. There were alot of those around at the time as well!!!!!!!!!! But think the 97 fits better

They use to come with alum with gold in the middle and raw at the wheel. But the gold would not look good with yours.

Funny too, I still have all the SR5 chrome pieces! Chrome grill, parking light/turn signal buckets, tail light buckets and the metal chrome door handles, chrome wheel well trims etc. I just decided I liked the black DLX stuff for the way it is now. I’ll probably swap that all over one day when I spring for some wheels
