bout to cut my FX1 pole....how to?

whats the best way to trim it from the top side...

drill out the rivits and the cut her down?

then whats best to reattach?

I trim all mine from the top. You can take 2-3/4" off the top before you get into the curvature. When you take the length off the top, the pole will still follow the lines of the hood. When you take it off the bottom it doesn't fit the hood anymore. Not sure if this is only FXs vs SJs? If you need more than 2-3/4" off, maybe take the additional off the bottom.

thats a good link.... but its alot easier with the right tools. i cut my poles with a sawzall or jigsaw. u can do it with the pole still on the ski, but its easier if its off. i prefer using stainless steel bolts with washers instead of rivets.
