FX-1 Bought my second Yamaha today, '94 FX-1

I got a bunch of the water out last night and I'm going to let it float for a few with the hood off to see if it fills up more.

ntrsspray its funny you mention the mid-shaft seals, doesn't that cause cavitation too? As I've been riding it over the past couple weeks I kept feeling like it was cavitating more and more. I'm going to investigate that more this afternoon and then go up a couple sizes on the high speed jet in the Blaster.

It turns out that the hardware on my hood-straps was just a little bit too big and it wasn't allowing the hood to seat in the seal all the way. Swapped those out and now its good to go again. Still needs a scoop grate tho!

Went up two size on the high speed in the Blaster and it didn't really change anything, said it and went up another four sizes and now its so fat it wont even start. I'm going to drop down another two and see what happens.

The blaster must have a cut in one of the fuel lines or something, I found a few inches of fuel in the bottom of the hull the other day.

Cut your check valve to you tank make sure its good could cause a problem as they can go bad

I pressure tested the tank and all the lines and found no issues there, check valve is also good. Im thinkin the fuel in the hull was from me removing the carb in a hurry and not turning the fuel selector off.

I ended up trying a leakdown test and immediately discovered a problem with the exhaust coupler. The outer rubber boot was ballooning out so I pulled it off and found that one of the clamps wasnt even on, Im hoping that this is what has been causing it to run lean.

I decided to pull the carb off of the FX-1 to check the jets in that one and aside from a slightly larger pilot everything else is the same as what the Blaster initially had in it. Its a good thing I checked that too because it was missing a carb gasket. Went back to the stock 135 high speed jet in the Blaster and got them both back together. They run great on the trailer, time for a water test.
