If the top deck is strong on a round nose and its the bottom that weighs the most
then why dont they make a lower deck to go with your std top deck ??

From what I understand of what it takes to build a bottom half and bulkhead, it's a TON more work than building a top deck.
There are motor mounts, waterbox and fuel tank strap locations, battery tray, bla, bla, bla.
Oh, and the motor mounts need a special fixture to line then up with the bulkhead.

AND, if you really wanted to, you can buy a bottom hull from Sergio.
But, if you were to do that, you might as well get a stronger topdeck too.

A Superjet would be tough to do,but a FX-1 is easier. Just cut out the factory "glued in" mounting pads and re-glue them on. Of course you take measurements before you hack up the old bottom.

Fx-1's are all handlaid though- no Heavy SMC like they are trying to get rid of by replacing the bottom of an SJ. Hence one of the reasons the FX-1 is soo much lighter already. But youre right it would be much easier!
