Super Jet bore out nozzle/new look

after searching and alot of reading.i thought to myself it would be easy to bore out my nozzle.so got some round sanding block and went to town on my back up ski nozzle.the goal was to go 85mm,but i went just a little over....this the before nozzle

:bigeyes:didn't even know that my back up ski has a a/f prop.went i purchase the ski the last owner said it was all stock besides the foot strap,intake grate and the d cut ride plate....i may sell prop and buy a 9/15 hooker....

really it look more like a over size dremel tool.....found the tool at harbor freight...and it work pretty good.the bigger one was almost the same size as when the nozzle was stock...

by the way and i used 36,80,then 120 grit sand paper all on the tool....

I did a pair a couple weeks ago with my cordless drill and a flapper wheel. Took about 45 mins each. Your method looks much easier, was it any faster?

We were going to bore my X2 nozzle with a hone tool. X2 nozzles are plastic. We also didn't end up trying it.

it was easy the 36 grit chew up the aluminum pretty quick and when i got to 84.5mm i when and used the 80 grit to cut down to 84.97mm then the 120 to 85.22mm to smooth it out the nozzle...what was cool too,the tool is the same width as the nozzle where we need to bore out.. it took about 2hrs for me too figure out where to find the tool then to figure out where to start...but the bore part took about 45mins too..if i have too bore out another nozzle it should be less time now that i have the tool and the know how...

straight bore,pick up a cone from wet wolf today.. hopefully this going to a good combo

I have found problems with a wetwolf cone combined with a large nozzle.

Unless you are ridiculously overpropped it will just cavitate.

I pick one or the other to use as a tuning tool to get a prop where I want it.

Just my experience though.

i have a stubby pump cone couldnt really tell if it did any thing.

whats the difference between a oem cone packed with grease and a stubby???

Look at his pictures, he is ridiculously overpropped. Boring the nozzle to 85mm will make a big difference for him. Stubby cones may have some benefit with larger nozzles (havent tested yet) but are a complete waste with stock sizes.

i could say it's been tested already my main superjet has the same set up and that when i had a stock prop,the only different is the cone,it maybe a blowsion cone idk...,however if my main ski didn't have that set up i wouldn't have done this mod,till i had rode one.all i can say this mod will give your ski alot of low end brapppp..

by the why what dose this do?i had search this before and wanting to do this on my 550 but didn't get around to do it...i can remember what dose...put it this way i'm too lazy to search again...lol...but i know it a plus to the ski....

I tried a stock 08 SJ big hub prop with a stock pump. 85mm nozzle and wetwolf cone and the ski went nowhere. Slipped like a mofo.

I left the wetwolf cone on and went back to a stock dimaeter nozzle and the ski hooks up perfect.

This was with a 62T/61X motor ported cylinder, ada head with 33cc domes, dual 44's, msd enhancer, boyeson reeds, stuffers, and R&D intake manifold.

I cleaned up the casting on the pump stator as well, but didn't go that crazy. Just smoothed everything out.
