Update:
After so many of you PM'd me and said that Penguin would steal parts off of my ski, I decided to do it myself. Best way to learn after all.
I modified 2 wrenches. First I modified a 13 mm because I figured RMBC had a poor memory, then I modified a 12 mm when I discovered his memory is quite good.
I pulled the starter after a quick phone call to the dirty bird, and then did little twist after little twist. It was real nice to discover that the two bottom center holes on the manifold were slotted through, so I didn't have to totally remove the bolts.
What allowed me to complete the job: a grinder, big vice, my handy dandy bendin' pole, a bent and ground 12 mm wrench, some advice from Penguin. LostOtter and RMBC and of course this wonderful board.
Things that were on hand that didn't help: a crescent wrench, a cat that insisted on getting in the way (Ms Priss not Happy, unfortunately) and a broken shop light.
I know there were only 4 lines that went to the pipe, but I labled all 4 of them with tape. Now I shouldn't double guess myself when I plumb it. I also put all the bolts back in their repective holes, as well as the starter, and I put two clean rags in the ports to keep critters out.
The things that surprised me were how cramped the working conditions were and how much you had to work by feel. Luckily, I remembered to disconnect the battery prior to removing the starter, so no shocking suprises there.
It turned out to be more of a pain that I thought; however, it was a huge relief knowing that I wouldn't have to pull the head to get to those bolts. The funny thing is that I didn't even notice the starter was sitting directly below them. Time to get a working shop light I suppose.
Anyways, I was glad to do a little, very minor, wrenching on it.
Thanks for the help to all of those who replied here.
