Bogging after Carb Tuning?

I used to run KN FA's on my Novi Dual 42's. I decided to put the stock airbox back on and Tune the adjustment screws a bit to get it dialed in right i also cut the trumpets out of the box to increase air intake. I went to ride and it ran a little crappy and then fell on it's face it didnt shut off but would not get up and go when i jumped on the throttle, it would just fall on its face. After a big carb adjustment it takes some time for it tom adjust. So i took a plug reading, rear cylinder lean. I run it a little longer and took another plug reading when i pulled out. The plugs were perfect dark brown and moist. I fired it up on the trailer and reved right up. So i dropped the ski back in the drink and ran great kept bogging only minor, then finally run great from idle to top end speed. So i rode for bout an houor tearing it up then towards the end it began bogging a bit. Any ideas, could have been low fuel but there was still about 1/4 or less in the tank, i do run the blowsion fuel filler which really don't reach as far as stock. My question is would a carb adjustment like this take a while of runnning like crap before the carbs adjusted to the new settings. My ski is an 05' SXR? Just curious to see what everyone else thinks, after i toppped up fuel and started it, it reved up great an ran fine even when l flushed it, it reved up great. Any thoughts?

I checked the plug wires and saw some black melted plastic on the wires, so they were not making a great contact. I cleared them off and put the boots back on, fired right up went down to the launch and the ski ran great for about 10 min, then bogged out again? Any thoughts could the plug wires continue causing this alone? I got 165psi on each cyliinder and the plugs are a nice moist dark brown. So what is going on?

I was thinking along the same lines but i run an Advent T3, D14 is the curve set, and im currently running timing curve number 3. So i have no sensors into the factory pipe unless there is a sensor built into the T3 ignition set up. When the ski is pulled out of the water it rev's right up no problem. Could it be a pop off adjustment that may be needed because i cut the trumpets out of the stock air box. The only problem there is i actually ran the K&N air filters and the Tau Ceti FA's with these same carbs no problem at all. This is a strange problem. and im really curious to see what everyone thinks. Thanks for your response Supertune!

When i dumped the ski in the water at first, i let it idle for a bit, then took off to 1/4 to half throttle just warming it up and the motor began bogging at first too?

One other thing, at first when i start riding the bogging is intermittent when i try to go past 1/4 to 1/2 throttle it will bog then kick in and bog and so on. Then after a while i can't get it past 1/4 throttle without it falling on it's face. This is a different one..... any help is appreciated.

Took the intake off and inspected the reeds with a mirror and led light, they are still in great condition. Something is strange about this problem. All the electronics from last year when i gutted the e-box installed my Advent T3 with brand new relay, Regulator, fuse, and Coil. So what the frig is goin on. This is a good one! ANy input is appreciated!

I tune by feel. It holds a smooth idle and was running great all season up until a few rides ago. This bogging is intermittent. I did tune the carbs a little richer on the low speed adjuster. After this adjustment the plugs are burning perfectly. I did notice a good amount of bubbles in the return line at one point. There is a lot of variables. Im just looking for more ideas. Im gonna pull the carbs off today and go through them.

No electronics... it was the standard carb bull:):):):) with all the ethanol in the gas my internal fuel filters in the fuel pump side of the carbs were all gummed up with dryed up ethanolm which is like a corn syrup, very sticky. This is the second time i've encountered this problem.

Anyone else noticing this problem with their carbs and the :):):):)ty gas? And is anyone running there ski dry after riding to clear out the gas that remains inside the carbs?

I would check continuity on the coil through the plug caps. You have to run 5K ohm caps. If there is a break in the wire it could arc and run but could give high RFI to the advent and cause problems. I had a friend's advent did the same thing. It was very intermittent. He bought another one since he wanted one for his other boat. It turned out to be the advent. Never use an msd coil.

I rebuilt the entire e-box with OEM Relay, Coil, Regulator, and wiring harness and i run the NGK plug boots. The only after market item in the e-box is the Advent T3. The problem was the internal filters in the fuel pump side of the carbs. After a while the ethanol in the gas begins to dry up and gums up the filters.
