Surfriding Bodega Bay

I've been going to bodega bay a lot with the grandparents, we went outside the surf break to place some crab traps and couldn't help but notice the wonderful surf conditions. I didn't have time to go to the shops and ask but once you are out of the break there are no beaches within 300-500 ft. I imagine the marina would let you launch and cruise out to the break and enjoy some swells. Anyone have any experience, or know if this is legal? There is a coast guard station on the way out, don't want to with the law. Just do it right if it can be done.

I talked to a life guard there a few years ago and he told it was ok.

to my knowledge not allowed directly in/at bodega bay , asked about 3 years ago...they sent us some where further up/down the coast...cant remember..just ask

Leaving from the marina is the only time you would be close to people/land. I don't see why not just wondering if someone has done it before. Cuz the swells where awesome.

I was told you can launch from the marina and go into the surf have not tried yet.

protected coastal areas have a minimum distance from shore law. not sure what the distance is, but i'm from the mendocino coast and i know you cant even step foot on protected areas.
