Other bob wont turn over backfired

Ok i finished hooking everything up yesterday and it started but was a little boggy because in my kart tank i only had one line puliing gas so it wasnt getting enough. so today i added another line inside the tank so fix this issue and now it wont turn over its pulling gas and i see it returning through the return line. now while trying to get it started backfired which was extremely loud. My battery was dieing so i swapped with another one and i noticed some smoke on the neg terminal and smelt a little burning. Anyone know what is going on here? also my sj tank had a 4th hole for a breather tube my kart tank doesnt do i need one? i tried to pouring a little gas in the cyl and the carb. also after it backfired i took the plugs out and a little smoke came out of the cyl

Lets back up. Why do you think the kart tank was the source of the "bog". Running duel carbs? If so check your pulse lines and make sure they are still flexable and crack free.

yes running duel carbs on the sj tank the two lines that went to the cap both had tubes that went down into the tank and since theres not a switch between on and reserve i thought they both pulled gas. so on the kart tank i wanted both those lines to have tubes that when all the way into the tank. also have a primer
hooked up

first off, you were saying that it isn't turning over but all the issues that you are having is happening while it is turning over, that had me confused for a bit. It will turn over but it wont start.
second off, what is your set up mainly in the electronics department. sound like there may be a short somewhere if you got smoke off the battery terminal. Although the little bit of smoke out of the cylinder would point to a really badly timed engine. Like 180 degrees off bad. definitely don't leave a battery hooked up in the ski and walk away while having these issues. That's a good way to burn up your new ski.
You will need some sort of breather on the tank to allow air to get in and replace the space that used to be filled with gas as you tank empties but that wont cause these issues.

when i pulled the motor from the running sj i didnt even take the carbs off just unhooked at the tank so i dont think there is anythign wrong with the lines

The bilges wern't tied into the ebox so they are not the issue. Did you take the ebox apart or pull the flywheel? Most cart tanks have a built in breather hose on the gas cap. Before drilling unnecessary holes in your tank you could try running with the gas cap removed (just dont backflip lol). You still have an electrical issues so something has changed from when you pulled the SJ motor from when you placed it in the bob. Check all grounds.

only ground not connected is the one to the bilge that was on the carm mani. i didnt touch the box or flywheel. off the ebox theres the 5 pin connector, start/stop, (pos) to the starter, (pos) to the battery and the neg is from the motor to the the battery
