Let me start off by saying ,i love to check out peoples build threads here on the x ,and i know people put a lot into them. but me personally ,i am not good with putting these things into a step by step format (either i don't take pics as i go or i get so enthralled in the work also i am always worried job will come into play and i wont have the time so i just want to get done and usually don't document it)anyhow i still thought for those that are interested i would put up some pics of the build as it was completed and i must say i'm super stoked and cant wait to ride her !!!! most of the hull assembly work was completed in a weeks time ,but the gathering of the components was done over the months it took to make the hull . i want to give a shout out to the people that helped me along the way with this project including , Art Gomez @ blackjack performance for the 771 ported motor and 38 tb carbs that are going to power this sucka, Steve @ watercraft factory for a great price on my solas pump ,impros for my hooker prop, jetmaniac for all those hard to get items like my steering cable and trim system ,starter ,reduction nozzle (machined by zero here on the x)and soon to be flywheel (thanks Chris !),cold fusion (Carl your :):):):) rocks !)hot products for all the little items used in my build,x-metal for my trim and waterbox(all the crew @x-metal ,thanks) ,and last but defiantly not least to DK and the ski clinic for an awesome hull and support on these builds also great pricing on the rrp products im running ,thanks guys !well here are some pics as sort of a lame cliff notes version from the arrival to water test (last saturday)enjoy ! image014-1.jpgimage013.jpgIMG_0944.jpgIMG_0916.jpg

I was wondering what you felt were the differences? Obviously a JetWorks motor will out perform the Kawi 800, but you should be able to enlighten us on any handling differences. Just curious. Have a great time man

After all these years The General Finally goes to Yamaha power.... man that was like pullin' teeth.

Can't wait to see your new ride, looks great!

wanderer yea i don't want to start the old yami vs kawi feud ,but honestly motor wise their really close feeling on the throttle . but my yami took more being done to it like a bigger cylinder, porting, ect to make it hit as hard where as my kawi was mostly bolt on items, but in the end i do like the way the yam puts the power to the water better and where it shines in the rpm range.now for the good stuff, the hull ,i got a little more time behind the bars yesterday and i am digging this ride .the changes are defiantly noticeable especially when flying the g-3 ,its super predictable and stable the hull gives good feedback when poping off wakes. its like you just stick that nose in there and its up to you as rider as to where you want the boat to go or do .but its ready to rock and roll the whole time ! also i would say its a little looser turning than the g-2 with a little more controlled skatey feeling to it ,yet almost all of the other g-2 characteristics remain.i mean im not a youngster (over 40 with a rtr bodyweight of 246) or a pro and i am having a blast on these things.i mean the first day out was able to unerflip ! what ? almost cleanly plate to plate !! are you kidding me ? wooo hooo !! great fun... all in all im still just scratching the surface of the capabilities of both skis.my g-2 was off the chain when chasing the boat and on flat ( was never able to get many pics of the sessions we had chasing the boat ,but let me tell you it gets nutz) g-3 will be even better and i think the full length keel is a detail that will really shine as a overall handling improvement ! also about the ergo's and looks , when looking at g-3 in the tray it has plenty of room as in the past but it now has a softer sleeker more refined radius look coming out of the tray up to the hood, a subtle change but turned out really cool ...this is just a little input on my experience so far.more to come .... (disclaimer :hulls by DK,skills sold seperatly) jk,lol.

Nice, comprehensive review Rubber ButtPlug!

Overheard this weekend out at the lake by Mrs. Rubber ButtPlug:

"If that Sonofabitch even thinks about putting a deposit down on a Gen 4...I'll divorce his ass!!!!!"
