Has anyone converted a boat trailer to a double trailer? I picked up a cheap bare framed trailer and need to fit a gp and and stand up. Just wanna know what others have done for ideas.

Okay cool ill have to check it out. My trailer is 80inches wide from inside fender to fender. I know I need 79 inches with them touching. So I have that to deal with as well....I am thinking to maybe allow the sitdown to sit over the fender a few inches to give me the room.

I want to see how guys did the front plat form. I want to run a tool box and just a flat surface. I am also hoping I can run the skis to the tool box and strap them to the box.

This is shortened from its original form 20 somethin foot boat trailer and right now it holds 3 skis and could hold 4 but i wanted room in between the skis for a platform to be installed for gas cans and gear. It's 80 inches also.

ive done two. one a moody boat trailer, added salt treated floor and bunks for two standups and shortened tongue. another 25' cruiser trailer that hauled 4-5 standups with tool box and dual axles.

Do you have any pics? I'd be interested in seeing the setup

best i can do for now. the large one i used when i sawed up some lumber, but you can see the bunks to. i used eye bolts in the center to attache ratchet straps on the double. the floor make it real nice for tuning and fueling at the ramp to.

This is what I have to work with as of right now. I've ripped it down to bare frame. Image1459382982.092972.jpgImage1459383001.727702.jpgImage1459383008.824512.jpgImage1459383020.562511.jpg

Now I just picked up a tool box for the front v portion it's 70 inches wide so it'll span the who front of the trailer. Here's where I don't know what to do. Do I weld new 2x2 running with the two that exist already to bring in level and add a third over the axle. Or do I get bunk holders that are adjustable and just use them?!

If I make everything flush with the top of the trailer I'll get some "U" channel weld to the frame of the trailer and put my 2x6 in them for bunks. At this point I'm unsure what to do. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated

I could do so many things with that setup. You have a great platform to start with. How many skis do you want to haul? 2-3?
Fuel racks plus tool box? If you want to send me some dimensions I can draw you up a cad model to work from.

More help the better. I have it planned out in my head. It's just the gp is a biiiig girl and every time I'm set and I think I know what I want I look at the gp and realize she's a big bitch haha.
