does anyone know how you are supposed to install one or what it looks like installed? does the rubber tube roller thingy go inside the pole, or on the outside of the pole? what is the bottom part supposed to rest against?

Yes. That part goes inside the pole.

thanks. would you happen to know if the bottom part rests against the mount that holds the pole up?

Here it is, little spring on the left under the hood mount deal, it doesnt really get in the way and I dont have any problems putting the hood on, just remember hit it one more time

I used a program to crop it and make it smaller if you need more let me know, I did itstall it the other way and the pole was still heavy, they way its installed in the pic the pole hovers about half way without me touching it

my spring is two pieces so i guess its the stock one and yours is aftermarket?

yeah i took out two stock and put in the one from blowsion, it works great compared to stock, you really need a buddy to make it easy

Took two of us to do it on my SN, major PITA but well worth it to get it in. I have my other one to install too not looking forward to and yet I am

When I installed mine it was a pain but I got it in about 15min
