A few months ago I bought a blowsion spring off of a member on here and finally got around to installing it only to find that it doesnt do ********!! I think its installed correctly (long arm into pole bracket, short into pole) and looks right but it doesnt hold my pole off the hood, it barely lightens it up and when the pole is vertical it actually forces the pole back down...what gives?

When you are in the tray looking at the bracket/spring it is backwards of this picture (the long arm is in the pole bracket and the short one is in the pole itself).

I cannot vouch for a second hand spring, but I enjoy my Blowsion spring. The only negative is when I fall occasionally the pole will remain upright and I cannot reach the bars from the tray.

Aside from that, the spring makes my stock pole "neutrally buoyant". Wherever I leave my pole is where it stays (will not fall), unless it is only like 4" up.

I will add that I have a UMI steering setup, with bars and throttle, so that might add weight compared to stock steering, bars, and throttle. :dunno:

I'm pretty sure the small end goes in the bracket. And yes, springs can be installed backwards...

edit: don't quote me on the orientation, I'm sure someone else will chime in especially if I'm wrong!

That seems to be the most popular time for people to chime in...I guess I will have to take a look at it tonight and see if I installed it wrong. Anbody got an pics of installed springs?

It looks (I guess looked) brand new when I got it. I pulled it out of the bag from blowsion still stapled shut...Ill have to give them a call, why cant any of the parts I get just be plug and play. Everything I have gotten so far has needed modifications.

Well I just got off the phone with Blowsion, I was talking with John (an awesome guy, great attidude and super eager to set things straight) and he did confirm the whole bad batch suggestion, I guess they though they cought all of the bad ones...a couple went out and this was one of them. But he is going to ship me out a new one free of charge! All of the blowsion orders I have put through online and never actually talked with anybody, gotta say it was a great experience and I will continute to bring my buisness there!

I just put a Blowsion spring on my 02 the night before last and it was like I slipped it a viagra pill  I'm kinda hoping it will settle down just a little bit, for that same "can't reach the pole easily when I fall off" reason. Although, it appears the pole is centered right at the optimum location for riding, probably zero weight effect.

I must have drawn one of the 'good' springs.

The longer end is on the left side and closest to you when you are standing from the tray side, btw.

Yamanube, good to hear you got it figured out...

What about for square noses? same spring? I would really like to have the centered height... I felt one square's pole and it it was light as a feather...
