Blowsion moody masher hood for SN

does any one else make a square nose carbon hood?i mean lets just say that you didnt give a crap about resale value and you already had a ported motor and a b pipe and a prop and dinner.how much does the blosion hood weigh compared to stock?or stock modded?i personally would have a hard time paying 600 for a hood without knowing this.but i'd pay 300 for a used one.provided this # was disclosed.i personally dont like the way the blosion hood sticks up in the back but if it's 15lbs lighter its 15 lbs lighter.if some one has one 4 sale pm me.

If you want to see blowsions fit of parts, buy a cf rideplate from them then tell me how well their stuff "fits".

I have one of those plates and it fits perfect .The hardware is excellent and it bolts right on :arms:
.If yours doesn't fit I'd send it back and get one that does :aargh4:

I assure you the hood fitement wasnt the installer. As that was my post if you think im the 1/100 with that same issue Id be more than glad to PM anyone the loads of pm messages that were sent to me in regards to others having the same fitement issues. Yes I was offered a replacement hood just a little frustrating after it was custom painted, everything takes time. Id rather be on the water then spending big$$$ grinding away on a hood that should fit wouldnt u agree? If you end up having any issues just make sure you speak to Mark very nice guy.

yeah i read the last of the post about it last nite, i wasn't calling you incompitent, i just never followed your entire post and now i see your point sorry about that, i ve delt with johnny before and i think it was mark that hooked me up with my new b-pipe this past winter so i will support the industry by giving them my business, man 600 bucks is alot but i hope to spend about 3000 CAD on my next parts list, it sucks cause i can get like 13-14 sweet new parts or buy a used ski with 200 used parts for backup but not all the ones i want, I will just see whats available at the time.

what, theres easily 250 dollars worth of r&d into that rideplate. Im sure they had to spend the 20 minutes making the mold, and another 20 laying it up. Then, the price of outsourcing to make the products. I know WCF has a nice carbon rideplate, and its not 250 bux.

I dont have one, I've just seen people install them, good reputable people from the boards, and the bolt holes should be at least within 1 inch of where they go.

flippin heck am i the only one that had one?

they are way lighterthan the stock hood and dont let in water the only problems i had were i had to open up the air intakes as it was a bit asmatic andthe baffle crackedwhen i did the sub from hell and the engine tryed pulling the hood into the engine bay but other than that it was good and no problems with the fitment but my roundnose hood was adifferent matter

Here's a rare bird... old-school aftermarket race hood for a square I picked up recently. Not sure if Blowsion made it or maybe Rapid out of Australia. (EDIT: After looking into it a little more I have determined that it is a Blowsion Moody Masher Race Version) Hand laid fiberglass and definitely lighter than a stock hood. Nice hood seal lip, with excellent finish work... too bad the previous owner hacked it up to clear a dry-pipe.

I reckon this could be made onto a sweet freestyle hood by blocking off the massive air scoops, reworking the liner and adding handholds...

I know!!! I'm glad somebody else appreciates an aftermarket square hood... Appearantly if you read this thread, they are junk and a total waste of money and the stock metton(sp) (brittle, heavy, leaky) hood is just far superior. Oh and God forbid you spend money on a squarenose ahhhh nooooo!!! :biggrin:

it would be cool if someone that liked smelling resin and enjoyed sticky fingers would make a new style SN hood. I just don't know what could be done with the shape to update it a bit to make it look a little better. man i would buy one for sure it it was half the weight and better water control with two handholds. it could happen yeah right.

I modified my stock hood and I have little to no water ingestion problems
