Blowsion moody masher hood for SN

Anyone buy one? if so how much lighter and stronger is it. I modded my hood but the blowsion one looks like it is of much better quality. I just need to hear if it is worth the 690.00 over the stocker.

thats almost as much as i bought my square for... more than i paid for the 701 in it, and more than 17 times more than what i bought an empty squarenose hull for. ur choice but i couldnt fathom putting that much into a hood on a square.

rounds can get good values but squares will always be limited on the resale price because they are outdated. If you ever plan on trading in for a round, you will not get anywhere close to the money back out of it.

Mod the square but keep in eye on the $ going into it. A new hood isnt gonna add 30hp. All skis are money pits, but i'd sink the money into something that will really make a difference. If you break a stock square hood, its an easy replacement and cheap but they can be made into tanks with the right reinforcements.

yeah you got a bunch of good points romack, but still someone has to have bought one that can tell us about it, it is still cheaper then rn hoods and people buy them up all the time, i am putting together a list of parts i am buying to get some more hp and want to know if a hood is worth protecting my investment. i am tempted to just buy a complete ski like gorilla's for any parts that i will need in the future. the decisions the decisions.

i think gorilla ski is an awesome deal if i could get it hear i'd buy it. i did read about that blowsion hood not fitting but that could be the installer, or not, i don't mind a little grinding and customizing to get it to work.

i ride with a buddy who has one. they're nice...but i wouldn't say they're $700 nice.

the weight is some what a little lighter, if any. i dont remember. but i do remember that i wasn't blown away from it being lighter.

it definately out performs a STOCK (complete OEM liner) and has a little "hook" look towards the top rear. But i think a modified stocker performs just as well.

oh, but they also have mid mount handholds...

yeah the handholds are nice maybe the liner is a bit more cost effective than the whole hood but if thats the case my homemade hood liner is holding up pretty good so far even with the typical barrel-roll-side-landing-flop-attempts. Man why can't they just put them on a clearance sale rack or something, lol that would help seal the deal.

from what i have read on this site a lot of those blowsion peices have a hard time fitting. i think some one had the round hood and couldn't get it to fit.

I think the majority of BLowsion's part have excellent fit and finish.

I agree with Matt about Blowsion stuff fitting well .Only 1 time has someone raised a complaint about a hood not fitting .

I can't fathom putting on a hood that's gonna cost as much as a brand new b-pipe with money for dinner to spare .
Spend it elsewhere,Skat swirl,UMI steering etc .

A new hood is not a performance gain and some hood straps and some reinforcing can save your ski just as easily as a $700 hood and for $600 cheaper

yes it is alot of money for a hood but what do you guys pay for a hood on your RN? Is it just because it is for a SN? i got a new b-pipe, umi, reinforcing bla bla bla, I don't have the hood it in my budget for the parts i am buying but, thought that if it was something that would shed some weight, look a little sweeter and last forever then i would cross some stuff out. doesn't look like it so far though, like i said before blowsion should put them on sale cause no one is going to buy them, hehehe

are you ported? if not, spend the money on that. Nothing against blowsion, but money can be spent elsewhere. A total loss, msd cdi, sweet girdled head, lots of alcohol, drop in handholds, gas for the rest of the year. You'll catch the lamey bug soon too, so better start saving.

yeah i'm ported but just a sport port, msd total loss is on the list as well as few other things, i will go team scream 5 mil stroker 61x motor when it is time, just trying to spread it out on the ski, lil $ on motor, lil, on backup parts, little on the hull you know, show some love everywhere lol, you rich round nose ridin stuck up MF's!!! with your fancy nice hoods got me all messed up!

old roundnoses can still fetch good prices if they are modded right cause they look new and age really doesnt matter much.

squares, even with the hood, are still old because they've been replaced by the round, you'd have a hard time getting more than 3000 out of any square.

just trying to make the difference between a round hood kit and square. plus a roundie hood makes a huge improvement in looks IMO.

does any one else make a square nose carbon hood?i mean lets just say that you didnt give a crap about resale value and you already had a ported motor and a b pipe and a prop and dinner.how much does the blosion hood weigh compared to stock?or stock modded?i personally would have a hard time paying 600 for a hood without knowing this.but i'd pay 300 for a used one.provided this # was disclosed.i personally dont like the way the blosion hood sticks up in the back but if it's 15lbs lighter its 15 lbs lighter.if some one has one 4 sale pm me.

It is really not worth the $$. If you gut the stock hood and make a liner it will be just as light as the Blowsion one. Remember that it is a wet laid hood so it does not save that much weight. My buddies roundnose carbon 24/7 hood weighs 13lbs.
