I have had mine since February of this year and like it allot, it has held up to some pretty mean surf. So far I mainly have ridden it in the surf but summer is here and I will be riding in the rivers more. Some say they don't like it for flat water freestyle but I can’t remember why. For me it seems like it would work fine but then again I am 6’5”

i'v had mine for 2 seasons now. i also like it, but i have not really got a chance to try anything else. mine is also holding up well. yesterday i got a little sideways and bailed and my hip slamed into it and it held up nicely, oh and the hood stood its ground also.
I beleave i'm the 3ed owned of this hood, the other guy no longer ski's and i beleave this is orgionaly owned by BK.

Great hood for surf............. sucks for flatwater if you are gonna use the handholds or ride on the hood.

BK why do you say it sucks for flat water? is it just to wide and the hand holds are in the wrong place?

the crease in the handholds makes it really uncomfortable, I also found that the shape of the hood did not lend to good balance when on the hood....... the Wammer style hood distribute the weight better than the JK hood, guess you could say it is more a flat profile with the wammer whereas the JK is kinda pointed........
I made the decision to switch back one sunday when I through on a wammer hood and proceeded to just hop on the hood and start doing hood spins (180's) with no effort whatso ever.

humm, i'm going to try and barrow a hood and see the difference. but besides from the hand holds being uncomfortable i like it. i even competed in the sff hood race... ..and lost

I won the hood race sitting on a JK hood :cool2: but my arse was hurting for 3 days after from the bruising :bigeyes:

my arse was fine compared to my knees. they got so bruised i couldent ride for the rest of the day :frown: Dont thing i'm doing to many hoodraces in my near future with out some type of padding, turf and/or wetsuit
