blaster / sj pump the same?

I have a blaster with dual carb 701. I am thinking about bout building a bob next spring, do the blaster b1 and sj use the same pump? I thought they did just wanted to make sure

Yes, but a different pump shaft.

ya I knew you had to change the shaft. Does the 650 sj use the same pump or no?

yes, but you'll have to fill in the boss for the stock siphon with JB Weld.

some of the old pumps the siphon drained through a large hole in the side of the pump

later they changed to the tube that drains out through the reduction nozzle.

I don't know when Yamaha made the change, but even on the later pumps the boss is still there - but it is solid aluminum. That is where everyone drills/taps to add dual cooling.

93 was the first SJ to have the siphon tube in the reduction nozzle which now was made of aluminum
