I have a B1 with 5mm stroker motor 83mm bore. Bought used and has not run right yet. Has single pick-up msd Tl, factory pipe and twin 44s. Just rebuilt top end because of huge air leak in case, repaired pressure tested and still won't run. It pops and won't rev at all in the water with no load out of water starts right up and runs fine. Sounds electrical.. any ideas?? I have a complete stock ignition/ flywheel/stator but don't really want to remove the TL and run stock ...

sounds just like my ski did when my stator came loose.
check your fuel pump gaskets, the clear ones.
I wasn't sure of the condition of pumps in the the carbs early in the year, so I am running an auxiliary fuel pump. Both plugs were wet, I am not sure what jets are in there. I just assumed it was once running well with what was in there. I have the screws at about 1 turn low and 1.5 high. from the way it was running it seemed rich but I just don't want to have it go lean and cook another piston. Could it be a bad plug, it has Ngk BR8EVX can I run regular BR8ES with the TL???

yes you can run a regular plug in it.
Is there anything else that can go wrong with the msd?? Someone had mentioned to me the pick-up trigger but from what I have read on here it either works or not and when it goes its normally the wire going into the trigger?? I replaced the coil when I first bought it, it was only firing the one cylinder but now fires on both?
