After the hood on my blaster falling and nearly taking a mates ear off i remembered there was a kit sold a while back that gave you 2 X gas struts to lift and hold the hood up.

Can anybody remember who sold these or where you could get a set.

Go to West Marine and you'll find the mounts and gas struts. You can get everything in Stainless Steel including the struts.

Polaris wanted something like $65 -$70 for the strut on my 2000 Pro1200. I went to these guys and bought the exact same part (they make it, the Polaris part had "AVM" on it) for $15.

i have 2 i can let go. one is the ebay one cost me 60 shipped (never out of box). so sell for the same. the other is the protec version cost me 90.00 sell it for 60.00 shipped used for less than half a season.

A long time ago, a guy posted on PWCToday how he made some struts for his X2. I may fab up some mounts so I can put a set on my X2 hood. That thing fell once and almost took my hand off!
