Freestyle Billet head/girdled head?

Location
Utah
I'm looking at getting a head for my ski so I can bump my compression. My question is, should I go with the girdled or just the reg billet? Seems like the gilded are twice as much. My mods are pretty basic. Red pipe, mad enhancer, prop, ride plate. Thx

I have no idea if your red pipe will impact your decision, since I have no idea if that mounts to the head or not. (If it does, I think adapters are available but that adds to the $).

However, the simple answer is: girdled. It is meant to take stress off of a known weak spot on the 61x cylinders. Now, of course there is debate about the effectiveness of this, and who has the best girdle bolt / stud design, but that is the design intent.

Have the stock head milled...I am curious about the advantage of a girdled head as well.

I think it may already be lightly shaved. I'm reading 150psi. That's a little higher than stock based on my elevation. I'm wondering if there is enough room on the stock head to get it to around 180 psi and if it makes sense money wise as opposed to putting money into a new head..

thats a good question. My head is shaved .002 inches if I remember right and my compression is around 155psi at sea level. I was looking into an ADA head as well, but am curious how much I can take off the stock head.

with a red pipe forsure girdled. theres alot on weight on the cylinder with that pipe. the cylinders crack in stock form let alone with a red pipe.
