What are you guys running for bilge switch's? My 2 month of use one just took a s**t and killed my battery. I am running the one the mounts on the start/stop switch but im not sure if I want to go that route again.

Almost everyone uses the rotary bilge switch from Blowsion .
It's the best switch period .It's about $50 and it's the last money you'll spend on a switch .

I've spent about $300 on handle bar mounted switches and they are not worth the money .

Mount the rotary in the tray area and it will last a long time :arms:

The CPI switches blow donkey d$*K... these are the rubber coated ones you can get from blowsion and also have the mount to attach to the stock S/S switch.

I'm using the Blowsion rotary and all is well. Only thing is I'd also recommend the cover plate they sell also cause you can break the knob off easy if kicked accidently, etc.

Or you can go the cheap way and just use terminals that you manually connect under the hood, not a bad alt. considering you only turn them off when not riding.

I use the handle bar mounted one. I really like the convience. My first one lasted for about 6 months and the 2nd one I filled the rubber at the bottom of the switch with urethane then after mounting it I covered everythign with a thin layer of sillicone and this switch has lasted for 4 years... *knock on wood*

Even though they are suppose to be water proof they get water in at the little rubber flange at the bottom of the switch. Eliminate that eliminates problems
WOW.. I bet the dam thing quits tomorrow

Several of the Oside Crew are ghetto fabulous like that. Then again, maybe it's just Ross and I.

I've been using the quick connect under the hood since I broke my bilge switch. Really, it works just as well.

I personally hate the rotary bilge switch from blowsion. It works well, but like the plunger primer, one swift kick and they're toast. I didn't know blowsion sold a cover. Maybe I will look into it.

So you guys leave your bilges on all the time? Nothing wrong with them running dry for extended periods of time?

YES leave them on the entire time. Bilges are designed to run dry or wet. If its not on all the time then you never know if your sinking.

I change mine almost every year, but no worries when they are under $3.00 from PEP Boys.

I love Pep boys but the one in my town went out of business .I bought toggles from them as well and watertight connectors for my water injection too .Lots of cool stuff there :cool2:

I thought about wiring it in so that when the engine was running it woiuld run. Then I thought that would be bad because if the engine died when it was full of water then im f-ed. I have the blowsion one on my X-2 and it is working well. I guess I will put a toggle in the tray. I want to be able to shut it off. Thanks for the input guys.

i was looking into the rotary switches. this is what I use. haha I have toasted a battery with the standard water resistant toggle switch with a boot. now I use the not so quick disconect. I want to keep the dash clean so I am looking for other options too. I had them inside and just unplugged it when I stopped but it is a bit of a pain that way.
