Freestyle bilge pump upside down ?

Just curious sitting here bored and a thought popped in my head, has anybody thought of mounting a bilge pump upside down that away if your ski got flipped upside down it might still b able to pump water out, or would the water comeing in the thru hull fitting b 2 much for it to pump anything out.

I think getting the ski right side up is more important than pumping water out while the ski is upside down. When the ski is upside down more water (not air) will be coming in to replace the water you are pumping out.

If you are upside down your intake air vents are under water so any water you displace with the upside down pump will still be replaced with fresh water coming in. As it would increase the egress of water and air escaping it would likely speed up the sinking. Maybe only marginally but it definitely would not slow it.

Glad to see someone thinking outside the box though. That is often how the best new ideas are found.

Actually, I forgot about the scupper, if your scupper is out of the water when the boat is upside down it may work as air flows easier than water so air should come in as water goes out.
