Funny - I read that same report a couple of weeks ago trying to figure out what pump to buy now they have stopped making the old V500. Guess what: I decided on the V500 ;-) Found some on e-bay, but cringed at the price. Still, it's a damn good pump.

I couldn't find a date but the new Attwood Tsunami pumps have Tinned wiring so it must be a bit older.

It's more than 2 years old because Attwood started producing the newer style bilge pumps that aren't in that study about that time. I've been real happy with my newer style T-800 Attwood. If water is trickling in, it'll trickle water out. If the water level gets a little higher, it'll launch the water out about 3ft before it drops 6" and hits the water.
