Super Jet Bilge outlet ?

This may sound dumb but is it recommended to put a sealent when installing your bilge outlet? If so what kind is best? Thanks guys

I have done it both ways and prefer using a sealant of some sort. I use whatever is on hand, 3M 5200, RTV, etc...
