If anybody is interested in building lights to ride at night. Use this link for info.

Scroll down, this guy has a few versions. The triple P4 is the setup I built.

I run one one the bars and one on the helmet. Makes a whole lot of light.

Total cost is about $200.00 for everything. Batteries are your biggest expense. I have about $110.00 in them alone.

There are some other lights out there.

This guy is great to deal with. THe Magicshine light is a light that was derived from the MTE P7 flashlight. I ran one of these flashlights early last year, great light. Geoman got with a MFG and helped them develop the lighthead that he is selling. You can buy these direct from China, but you are better off getting them from this site since he goes through everything and double checks them. They are cheap lights but they work very well for what you spend.

i made a set for mine as well. i spent about $50 for mine . i used a 30w halogen down light that you use in you house (you can get a few different spreads ) and a switch and a house alarm back up battery. My cousin made up some carbon mounts to go on top off your helmet and i put the battery in my camel back .
works really well and i get about 2 hours on a charge

I want to see *your* lights.

If I decide to get into night riding, I'll probably get 2 Magicshines and be done with it.

IMO, night riding some technical trails that have good elevation change is the most fun you can have on a bike. Probably the most dangerous too, but man is it fun. Of course you've got to be putting out some serious wattage, flashlights and duct tape will work but it won't allow nearly the same level of riding as a serious rig will. Going in the middle of the night also allows you to get on trails where bikes are not permitted. Unfortunately, a good portion of the best trails around my area don't allow bikes. They are in tightly regulated state parks along the primary dunes of Lake Michigan. Well, F them, we just rip through at 1am! haha

dont have mine at work with me. But they are identical to these. Only difference is I used round optics instead of the square ones. (Lense part)

Custom built LED lights for riding at night with your buddies $200.00

Riding down a hill with your buddies, into a tree, deflecting off the tree onto a bridge, and bouncing down into the creek upside down in 33 degree air temp.......

Freaking Priceless.....

Holy crap tha water was cold."

This happened at night. It can be dangerous. Been 2 weeks and I am still hurting in some places! (shoulder, wrist)

GeoMan/Magicshine have a new one, 1400 lumens for $130!

The remote button is led lit and changes color based on battery level, from green>>blue>>yellow>>red and it has several modes of operation including a 5-100% variable mode.

Get this for the handlebars and the original Magicshine for the helmet and you're good to go for $240 and can blind aircraft.
