So after breaking that gary fisher frame I went ahead and bought a santa cruz heckler frame. Hear only good things about that frame and that they are bomb proof. Well come to find out they are better with a 140mm or more travel fork. So sold my old fork and bought a new one. I went off Santa cruz's website for the specs. Well I bought a close out 2011 frame and the specs are for 2012 frame and they changed the head tube size. So I bought a head set and fork that don't fit. No biggie selling them and buying the right size stuff just a pain. Its not like a sj where everything is one size. O and the wheels wouldn't fit on the fork since it is a 15mm thru bolt and the wheels I had were 9mm QR so had to buy new wheels and tires. Just ready for it to be done. But it will be one badass fun bike and hopefully won't have to worry about anything breaking any time soon.

It seems like the past year or two has brought big changes in axle and headtube sizes with the beefier stuff becoming more prevalent. A buddy is going through the process of deciding what to replace his bike with and those 2 items are definitely complicating things.

Bikes are just as much work as skies. Could not believe the money it took to maintain it. Tubes less tires need slime, oh, wrong rims, u need this. $1000. Chain and sprocket. FOX shock started to leak. Quick rebuild $400. Unreal! Fun Fun however.

I am sorry I typed that wrong. I have a 1 1/8 headtube. The steer tube on the fork is a tapered 1 1/8 to 1.5. SO if anyone is looking for a fox float 150mm travel with a taper steer tube I got one for sale. 375 shipped brand new!

Doing a complete build can be time consuming . You will like the heckler , It's simple single pivot does the job. I ride a superlite

I would reroute that front brake line on the inside of the fork so you don't catch it on sticks/etc.

I like the look, now get it dirty and never wash it.

x2. I'd also loose a couple of inches of brake line while at it, both front and rear ,to reduce the risk even further. Then ride it like you stole it!
