Big Bore Stroker build !?!?!

Hey I just got 2 buckets full of superjet parts and found a motor set up and want to know what it is,what I need to use it, and what to expect performance wise(top or bottom end power).

The cylinder and cases are 62t,bore size is 84mm the crank appears to be a rad crank. It says 74 on the web. I have a stroke of 74mm. The con rods appear to be stock. The cases have been trenched and cut to allow cylinders to go in. It has a thick set of base gaskets. It has a triton head that appears to be cut for the piston to go up in to.

Id like to know what to call this motor is it a 6mm stroker big bore or??? Also what kinda crank is it 6mm? 3mm?? What carb set up should I use? Can I get by with the stock carbs(38?s) off my 701 till I can buy new ones?

I also found a Rapid ebox and opened it up to find a MSD programmable ignition with the fly wheel and pick up coil plate in another bucket.

Now for the bad part. The cases are munched,it looks like a previous builder learned the hard way on how to install circlips. The bottom of the cases look pretty thin and they had to be welded in one spot where it busted. I cleaned it all up and they are usable but the starter mount is cracked. I also have a set of 61x cylinders and cases that are brand new. Can I cut the 61x cases for this crank or should I get another 62T case and cut those? How much different is the X vs T besides the intake set up.

Basicly I got some cool stuff and need to know how to set it up :Banane09:

I found a set of 48mm carbs, I think they are full spectrums. Ill know more when they are in my hands.

Is my pump gonna handle this?? Its a stocker with a swirl prop and a purple cone(forget I think its a wet wolf?)

Im putting this in my stock 05 sj,with rev holds,-4 handpole with 0 degree bars.stock hood(haha).

By the way Im a flatwater guy, I make maybe 3 surf trips a year.

It sounds like you have a 6mm stroker engine with some real high port timing.

I'd start fresh with another set of 62T cases use a 61X cylinder with big bore sleeves with lower ports more suited for freestyle.

Also you'll want to use at least 44mm or 46mm dual carbs for this engine.

Yes,
A stock pump with the right setup should hold the power of a stock non-power valved engine. (even if it's a stroker)
If your building from the start, Use 62T/64X cases, re-sleeve a 61X cylinder w/85mm bore. (need special port timing for stroker cranks)
This way your done the first time right and don't have to build a second time.
Like '0 said bigger carbs are better for more power, but you could use the stock dual 38's to start with and upgrade later when the funds are better.

Thanks Im going to replace the cases latter on I have some 61x cylinders I'll send out to get prepped for 85mm pistons. Im still going to slap it together as is and run it for a day or two to see how it is and then to learn by experience how the port timing really effects things.

Chuck do you resleeve?? If so youll probably end up getting mine. Do I need to get a port job done as well or just 85mm sleeves on 61x cylinders?

Thanks

You'll need an un-ported 61X cylinder and it will have to be extensively ported along with the cases.

Also you have to machine the cases to fit the sleeves and turn the domes for higher piston height.

if I can get it to work for me ill post the pic up,,but Ill probably have to email it to ya,my lap top isnt working real good. it works about half the time.

The ebox is just an aluminum box with a lid on it. It was covered with orange rvt.

#0 Ive got a brand new 61x set up with maybe 4 hrs on it so I can use that for the cylinders. My current T cases that are cut for this crank are useable, so Im going to run thoses for now. Thanks for all your help. Is there a builder you reccomend?
