Other Best way to replace sleeves and transfer porting?

I blew up a ported big bore that I really liked a couple of years ago. The cylinder if fine but the sleeves are broken. I just bought a cylinder that was bad with good sleeves. I figured I'd combine the good parts and get my old motor back.

I have an idea about how I'd go about doing it, but I'd like to hear guys. Any DIY recommendations?

Just be aware that putting those good sleeves into another cylinder will probably cause some warping and you'll need to bore up.
Other than that, I have no advice.

Think it's more of a decking issue ( has the sleeve to be installed been decked in it's life time ?) and making sure it seats right during cool down . A speck of grit or dirt will give you fits too as many will just resurface it and then the sleeve drops after several heat cycles and you are blowing o rings.
Most sharp machinist's will use a form of torque plate after install to hold everything in place during cool down AND check for out of roundness on the bore.

If you have a true ported big bore cylinder with aftermarket sleeves you'll need to know what type sleeves you have installed. Each big bore sleeve has a different diameter and flange measurement depending on the manufacturer and cylinder model fitment. If the sleeves are damaged from a rod collision they might have to be machined out or the cylinder casting could be damaged, if not already. I'd post a picture and take some measurements to determine if what you have is worth repairing.
