300/440/550 best prop?

what is the best prop for the 550? im looking for real good low end power, top end isn't real important but i don't want to lose much. the engine is stock, may be adding a pipe and shaving the head soon. im looking at a solas 13/17 variable pitch prop right now, any thoughts on that? also im about a 250 pound rider and the ski is an '86. thanks in advance.

the 13/16 will be a decent prop most will say with a pipe the staight pitch 15 or 15.5 is best choice. also would help a lot if you got a bored outlet nozzle too... i would recommend trying to find an ocean pro outlet nozzle or similar they are pretty pricy though but worth every penny if you want more thrust

My 15.5 is a good prop to get me going on the old 550. I'm 205lbs. It pulls pretty decent.

also depends somewhat on if your using a 440 or a 550 pump... on the 550 pumps 15.5 is probably max

Well it's an all original ski so im sure its a 550 pump. im gonna pull the nozzle and see about boring it and probably try that 13/17 solas prop. i probably wont pipe it till winter when i tear it down
