Best High End Oil for Big Bore in salt water

What mixture do you mix the gas and oil,50:1 40:1 32:1,
how does the mixture play a role in all of this?

I run 40:1 as do many. A better oil will probably run at a leaner mixture than a poor one, but with less oil you also get less seal on the piston rings; I think I read once that 22:1 gave maximum power, but would no doubt foul plugs & cause rapid carbon buildup.

I run Polaris VES snowmobile oil only because it smells like bubblegum......even when you spill it in the bed of your truck.

I tried runner castor oils back in the day, but they are just too expensive. The fact that it settles so you always have to shake up yoru tanks was also a PITA.

I think Amsoil is great compromise: an excellent oil at a decent price. Amsoil Dominator is about $35/gallon, and if you become a preferred customer or whatever they call it, you save about 10-15%. I pay for the 1 year preffered customer and then order a big shipment that will last me.

A long time ago I read in a dirtbike magazine that oil burns hotter than gas so a richer mixture wasn't necessarily advantagious. This is just something I read in Motocross action so I don't speak from first hand testing. I know the bigger the dirt bike motor that leaner they can run them. 125's were 22:1, 250's were 32:1 and open class could go 50:1 or 40:1. I am guessing it is due to the higher RPMs of the smaller bikes and their need for main bearing lubrication.
