Best Freestyle Prop?

Yup, I will definately scoop one up if I ever get the chance. I am running the Concord now but would like to try the Swirl after all the good press I have been reading lately. Both are surely great, but I am all for any chance to improve performance.

I have one of the super slim skats, I had problems with it cavitating to the point of pitting the metal on the hub along the edge of the blades. I only ran it for part of one season a few years back and have had better luck with the Solas products ever since. The Skat is just gathering dust in the basement somewhere. I am sure Impros could fix it but I will prolly never mess with it. If anyone wants it I can post up some pics.

I guess the point I wanted to get accross is if I (Average Joe Blow) post that the Concord has a bottom end lag, the posts I receive back would say things like, "Must be something wrong with your motor", or "Maybe your intake setup is incorrect".

But if a few members of this board (a dozen perhaps and we all know who they are) post that the Concord has an off idle lag everybody's response is, "Yeah, I notice it too!".

So there are (a dozen or so) people on this board who have the influence over a core group of riders. These are the people who buy the products and try them, let us know the results and it is a big favor to us "average riders",
because we don't have to spend a lot of time and money figuring out what works best. So in my opinion, the Matt_Es, ParrDaddys, etc are the product experts. They don't have all the answers but they do have a lot of information to share.

and everybody thought I was a raving fool for preaching about the SKAT........... That is why I told Fly to ride my ski and SJBrits so he could feel the difference..........

But, you are not going to go wrong with the concord either..........providing it is set up with the right pitch and trued.

I am glad this post is up because I have been looking a impellers and on the Wamiltons website it recommends the 12/17 skat for a stock engine and a 15/19 or 15/20 for a modified engine. My SJ has a b-pipe, west coast head, and aluminum flywheel. Is that what they consider "modified" enough. Or do would I still be better with the 12/17.

ok, So I may need some enlightenment since I know little about impellers. The impeller on my ski now is very beat up and I need to replace it so I was looking at impellers and being the way I am I wanted to buy something besides a stock replacement one. I want something that will hit really hard low and launch the ski out of the water. Is this what the Skat Swirl will give me?

:arms: I am running a skat-trak swirl freeride 12/15 and it works really good for bottom end. The extra horsepower from FREERIDE UNLIMITED/ LEHR PERFOMANCE WATERCRAFT is what you need, so look into it!

I'm goin w/ a stk prop cut back 500mm and repitched to
2/5 and drillin a butt load of holes in the blade to lighten it up as much as possible-oh-and as for the flywheel-who
needs one anyway-I took off and left it off.
LMAO

I crack me up sometimes.

you put a pully on the exhaust manifold, then where your choke use to be, you push the pull cord through the hole, that way when you are dead in the water, you just lean up, grab the gas with your right hand, then pull with your left........ if you have to, jamb your feet against the back of the tray....... and give it a couple of quick tugs......... been working on a new kick starter, but the balance thing on top of the hood is not working well...........

to me honestly, props, grates, and plates are all personal choices, that sometimes trial and error will help decide what you like.

i'ved used 13/15,16,17's on the SJ
each has it's pro and con so to speak, at least for my riding style

i personally love the 13/15 cut back 4-5mm
i like that low end response out of it.

definately talk to Dave at Impros
he has done all of the props i have had

he also did a nice mod on the kawi 8/16 i had on the 650x
