Best freeride vest under $100??

I'm in the market for a new life vest thats USCG approved and wont break the bank. Something with sufficient padding to keep my 200lb self afloat, as well as doesn't limit too much movement.

I don't have a specific recommendation because my vest is 14 years old, but I really like my fitted neoprene vest. It's 1" thick throughout the vest and chest shaped. I know lots of people prefer the lighter weight vests. The side padding saved my ribs once (bruised them back through the vest), I like that it's fitted not one size fits all, and the neoprene helps with warmth in the winter but I don't find it to be hot in the summer.

I do like the idea of extra padding for protection, as long as it doesn't restrict too much movement. I ride in Florida so cold temps isn't an issue. What is the advantage of side buckle opposed to front? I usually strap my tow rope and hook it on to the front loops.

Side buckles prevent snagging your buckles and scratching paint on hood tricks. But that is the only use I have found so far...

i like the JP recoil vest because it has a good pad right in the chest/belly area for when you go over the bars on reentrys and lip schwacks

I do like that one a lot. None of the colors will match my fluorescent green bot though.. going with the jpapex

I have the JP Apex nylon vest. Like others have said, I like the padding in the front. Sometimes I grab the wrong buckle since it's hard to see over on the side. Also, sizing is a bit odd. I'm a 40 chest and that size is right in the middle of medium and large. I went with the large since I was afraid the medium would be too small. I'm 5'9" 180lbs and it covers my whole stomach.

JP apex I think I got mine on the JP site for $40. Can't go wrong!
