I think the answer to that would be "none". They all pose a threat to your ankle/shin no matter what design. XFT rear entry, the normal side entry, and even straps all have their benefits in some scenarios and weaknesses in others. Anything that you can use to "secure" your foot in can cause problems.

You really just kinda of have to ignore the fact that it might happen. Footholds like the WCF have the least chance and those would be the best. Revs would be great too just dont do the enclosures.

I hurt myself way more by falling out of the holds than being stuck in them.

True dat.
My worst injury was when I came out of the holds on a no handed roll attempt. Note to self.......when not holding on with your hands, hold on with your feet. Skis tend to land on you otherwise.

x3...forget about ankle injuries. The real injuries happen when the ski gets away from you. When you're doing a superman behind the ski 3-4 ft in the air because both feet pulled out of the holds, you'll be wishing your holds held you in better for the next couple weeks or years if you're really unlucky. Besides, if both feet are locked in place, you're far less likely to get an ankle injury than if just one is in place.

I like WCF. I would really like to ride a ski with the Trinity holds though. These two would be the two I would use and I have ridden with quite a few different ones. I have the REVs now and they have some things I like about them, but there are also some things I don't like. They are more work to install and hurt the tops of my feet.
