Air sanders not an option. Just wondering what everyone else is using? My crappy HF palm sanders are going in the trash as they just do not cut it. Looking at Makita 6" orbitals. Anyone have any other reccommdations?

Porter cable QUICKSAND ,very good quality I have beat on mine for years,so far I have had to replace the o-ring that makes it orbital and the bedplate that the sanding disc go on,Now if money is no object go with a Fein, they are the absolute best money can buy IMHO.

I've been using the crap out of a electric Porter cable D/A sander for 13 years with no problems. I use it for my business all the time. Porter Cable is the shiz.. Also Makita is great too. i have the big makita grinder and the small one and have had no problems with them for 13 years also.

What are you sanding? I install and sand wood floors for a living I got every sander under the sun. Get a sander for your application cause if you buy a sander that does a little of everything, it usually doesnt do anything good.

Funny thing i'm re-enforcing,re-painting, and re-foaming my new hull. I'm honestly using a palm , belt , sanding discs put on my grinder, and alot of hand sanding. I think if you just wanted to buy one just get a good vibrating orbital and buy alot of sand paper in heavy grit cause usually they dont sand as aggressive as you would think but it will get the job done. Or you could go to Habor Freight and buy each type of sander but its cheap chinese crap.
